There have been credible polls coming out for weeks which show the exact opposite of what you claim but it has been clear to everyone that Trump has been gaining support while Hillary has lost it over the last couple weeks. We haven't even begun to see Trump campaign and he's kept it a tight race with her.

Wrong, Trump has begun to slowly implode in recent weeks. The only reason Clinton hasn't moved way ahead is the email scandal. Once that settles, she will move well ahead. Trump is running a horrible campaign, the guy lost money on a casino so it's really not a big surprise. He also has the lowest IQ of anyone ever to run for President other than David Duke.

He's not going to win hispanics, he will do worse than Romney. Clinton will win women, but she will do even better than she would have with women had Cruz or Rubio been nominated. Catholics will go big for Clinton. Blacks will go for Clinton in numbers not as big as Obama but still big when compared to Kerry, Gore, and her husband. Many conservatives and suburban Republicans will stay home or vote for Gary Johnson, she will be hurt by some Bernie voters going to Johnson or staying home but not as much. It's over. Ben Sasse 2020.

^^^ Some truth to this. I think Democrats are a bit less angry than Republicans and this is why Bernie is not our current candidate.

A turn off for a LOT of people for sure.

Why are progressives surprised by his popularity? Will he win? I don't know, but I will vote for him. I wouldn't even consider for a minute voting for him if Hillary wasn't his opponent. But, she is and this left wing madness must stop.
Trump was birthed by the racist dog whistle of the GOP. He rose to prominence within the party as he alleged that Obama was a Muslim terrorist. Those that are so inclined - fully went with it. Stir in some strict nationalism, denigration of other races and religion and BOOM ~ you got your candidate.

Absolutely.

In some ways, it's what's appealing to the new faces he is attracting, and in part the reasons a number of republicans are still crying never Trump.

In the end, is that a good or a bad thing? Only time will tell. My guess is a number in that right wing resurgence are tea party folks who felt the establishment righties weren't doing enough for them. In part, it's angry white people who aren't happy with the state of affairs. Is that group big enough to overcome Hillary? We'll see.

The democrats are in less a quandary. While Hillary has her baggage, there isn't the splintering. Yup, she'll lose some the Bernie folks to the green party or non-voters, but there will be a rallying effort simply because Trump is so divisive. While a lot of the righties love his rants, way too many of us see him as certifiably nuts.

No matter what happens come November 7, the day after, life will go on. The bigger questions will be why do we keep ending up with candidates who have issues? Is the two party system still the only way? Is there room for people who aren't happy with either party having a real seat at the table?
Another stupid thing Manafort did was to publicly diss Kasich in his own state of Ohio. Despite his flaws - he is very well liked in Ohio and his favorables are high. Trump might actually want to WIN Ohio.

Why is supporting abortion and LGBT rights the most important thing to society these days? What about taking a stand against racism and stimulating the economy. I would imagine all three of those things would matter to everyone regardless against of political stance. Most people already support abortion and gay rights, we've already made huge strides for those things, but is that all that matters anymore?
Gay rights and abortion should not even be a topic at all. They should both be a done deal. But as long as Republican legislators find their way around Roe V Wade in order to make abortion near impossible AND to continually try and establish religious laws that allow discrimination against gays - this topic will never be dead.

It should be. But the right wing won't allow it to be.

The issue is that Republicans feel it is an issue. It shouldn't be an issue and Republicans blend religion in politics when they focus on these issues. Religion should play no role in politics and left to Churches.

Well, let's see how Trump and the Republicans scorch the earth if he gets elected. I can't understand how he has such a following when he has never really cared about anyone but himself. He used to be a democrat and now he is a hypocrite. Wait until he chooses the Supreme Court from the Heritage foundations list. He wants a lower minimum wage so he can get his clothing line made here instead of overseas. He has never governed anything. He is clueless and he has a short temper. The Republicans have criticized Obama more than any other President. They talk about working together, but their real agenda occurred when during his first term they actually said they're agenda was to make sure Obama failed as president.

So Rep. Steve King sounded like the true fascist he is. Interview with Chris Hayes. White people have contributed more to civilization then any of the other "sub-groups". Really now we know that Don the Nut is infecting the entire GOP.

As you watch the convention be aware where the GOP is going and that they must lose big time in November.

The guy Manaford (sp) is known for getting dictators elected using this type of rhetoric.
