I just added the total pledged delegates for the top 3 candidates in both parties and figured the percentages per candidate. I thought the best way to give an apples to apples comparison, would be to take the top 3, so the vote would be split between the same number of candidates and removed superdelages, since Repubs are figured in yet.
Trump: 55%
Cruz: 34.2%
Kasich: 10.7%
Clinton: 56.3%
Sanders: 43.6%
O'malley 0%
If you take this view, then Trump and Clinton have similar popularity for the voters in their parties.
