Santorum and Newt backed out too early.

Delegates waiting to be pledged at State Conventions: 750
Delegates from States yet to hold Primaries/ Caucuses: 638

Pledged to Romney: 312
Pledged to Santorum: 144
Pledged to Paul: 110
Pledged to Gingrich: 24

Romney would have had about 100 less if the other two had stayed in.

He and Santorum might have been dead even.

Yeah, well some on here think the process is already over. So they will stay in denial.

Mittens is going to cry like a little baby when he realizes that he can't buy the election. Ron Paul will prevent him from having enough delegates on the first vote. Then, all bets are off.

I like this state of affairs better.

Romney is fighting two wars - he is busy beating up Obama to prove to the sheeple that he is the nominee, but at the same time still have to contend with the Paulbots at every single damn convention. He is scratching his head on what to do with the Paulbots. (He doesn't agree to their platform, but want their votes.) Convinced that Romney is the nominee, Obama is busy beating up Romney. Meanwhile, less distractions and direct attacks on Paul, so we can concentrate just on getting the delegates.
