No one said it was impossible for a Republican to win a senate race, but your argument is flawed based on the candidates themselves.

If you read the apology to HI from Clinton and the queen's response, you could make a good case that Obama is getting even with the US for its treatment of HI in the early days.

HI isn't really enamoured of the US for the way we invaded and took over. Don't see too many US flags there.

you see lots of US flags in the islands. they fly on most institution's building, public and private. what you see here more, is the state flag. state flags fly under the us flag on all the buildings already mentioned, plus on a good number of homes and other small business. we fly our state flag far more often then do our mainland counterparts. State pride, can you blame us

If this is true, then I don't blame them--after all, we did help overthrow a pro-native Hawaiian Queen there in 1893.
