They have to lie. Obama has no plan so they have to strike fear in seniors about whatever plan the right has come out with. And they don't care that it's not Romney's plan.
You're right of course.
The problem the Obama camp is going to encounter is this. They can try and scare people with "what if Romney wins" scenarios. That's nothing new. What is new is that none of the "what if Romney wins" scenarios are worse than what actually happened during Obama's first term.
Obama's results are far scarier than what a Romney presidency might bring.
I usually don't pay much attention to polls, but when the numbers reach 6 in 10, or 8 in 10 likely voters, it's not so easily dismissed.
By choosing a running mate so closely identified with changing Medicare, Romney may have shot himself in the foot in states with a high number of elderly voters, like Florida. And, Mitt Romney simply cannot win without Florida.
directly out of the NYTimes: I guess it is time to sing: I dream is a wish your heart makes, but in this case your dream may not come.

The NYT, and the Washington Post, are probably the most non-biased sources you can name. They both deliberately allow ALL points of view to be expressed over time and the Post even goes so far as to not allow their news and opinion department folks to even VOTE, let along be politically active.
Of course, if you look at it and find one article or opinion piece you don't agree with and never go back, you'll be left with the false impression that they are biased.

The GOP is playing "What if Obama wins," so what's your point.? R&R wouldn't dare run on their track record (Romneycare; changing Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security), so the only thing they have to offer is "OMG! OBAMA!"
The more people look at the Medicare issue, the more people will side with Obama. Romney/Ryan have just been straight up lying about Obama in most aspects of policy and especially when it comes to Medicare. Romney/Ryan is just banking on voters being ignorant or not exploring the issue for themselves.
You mean the fact that obama cut 750 million out of medicare to pay for obamacareyou mean like that.... And the fact that Ryan co sponsored a medicare bill with Liberal Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden that would give people an option and take it away from the liberals checkbook.
Anybody, old or young, who trusts Obama with anything, much less anything fiscal, is suffering from severe dementia. The very thought of trusting that fool is laughable.
We should not be trusting either side with Medicare. They have flubbed it completely. I will give Ryan credit for having the cajones to actually talk about serious changes to a failing program though. Politicians rarely put anything on the line when it could decrease their vote tally.
walidm proving once again that he/she has no original thoughts.
Once one such as yourself has been proven incapable of the depth of thought necessary to discuss topics of importance beyond the typical shallow levels of engagement, future efforts at engaging are typically relegated to the highest level of communication observed.
In your case, cartoons and finger paint were deemed appropriate. If the mark was overshot, I apologize in advance.
