"And it probably wouldn't be good for our economy for a bunch of these jobs to come back because, frankly, there's no way that people could be getting paid a living wage on some of these jobs, at least in order to be competitive in an international setting." -President Obama

So he doesn't think it would be good to get these jobs back? Then how can he complain about them leaving?

Obama's Stimulus was Pro-Outsourcing:

“79 percent” of all green-jobs funding in Obama’s $800 billion stimulus package went to foreign companies, with the largest payment going to a bankrupt Australian company. For example, the Obama Administration spent $1.6 billion on Chinese and other foreign wind power. The practical effect of those subsidies was to outsource American jobs." Read more here.

"“According to our estimates, about 6,000 jobs have been created overseas, and maybe a couple hundred have been created in the U.S.” Even with the infusion of so much stimulus money, a recent report by American Wind Energy Association showed a drop in U.S. wind manufacturing jobs last year." Read more here.

"Despite President Obama's recent call for companies to "insource" jobs sent overseas, it turns out that the federal government itself is spending millions of dollars to train foreign students for employment in some booming career fields--including working in offshore call centers that serve U.S. businesses." link.

President Obama is barnstorming the heartland to boost US jobs in a taxpayer-financed luxury bus the government had custom built -- in Canada, The Post has learned.

The $1.1 million vehicle, one of two that Quebec-based Prevost sold the government, has been tricked out by the Secret Service with state-of-the-art security features and creature comforts.

"The Obama Administration has also encouraged companies to move overseas by interfering with employers’ merit-based hiring, and by imposing a wide array of costly, harmful new labor and employment regulations on American manufacturers. Liberal businessman Steve Wynn called Obama “the greatest wet blanket to business and progress and job creation in my lifetime,” saying that “the business community in this country is frightened to death of the weird political philosophy of the President of the United States. And until he’s gone, everybody’s going to be sitting on their thumbs.” link.

It "Wouldn't Be Good For Our Economy" For Outsourced Jobs To Come Back - YouTube

Obama's job adviser, Jeff Immelt (of GE) is a major outsourcer....he even outsourced after being named to the position by Obama. Seriously, how can Obama have his top Jobs Adviser be the guy who officially made GE have more employees over seas than in the US?

AllGov - News - Why Did Obama Choose Outsourcing Champion Jeffrey Immelt as Jobs Advisor?

Outsourcing is not an Obama thing. Both Big Govt and Big Corp want it. Plain and simple.
That is why it has been going on for quite awhile.

Obama is part of the problem most certainly, if the left will pin outsourcing on Romney. You say it is big government's problem -- Obama is Big government.

Obama has said it would hurt the economy to bring back outsourced jobs, so how can he be upset that they left? Obama has given US taxpayer money to help foreign companies - this is outsourcing. Obama has given money to train foreign workers skills to take outsourced American jobs. Obama puts in charge America's biggest outsourcer of being his top job's adviser and lets him keep that spot even after he continues to outsource. Obama is an outsourcer.

Big companies outsource jobs so they can make more money for their shareholders. It's called CAPITALISM!

"some of" those jobs. And he's right.

Some tasks simply aren't worth doing if you have to pay 1st-world compensation for them. It makes perfect sense to hand those off to cheaper labor markets if - and that's a big if - they can be done well enough.

The actual transcript of the interview in question. Seems to make perfect sense to me. What money did he give out to train foreign workers for the jobs he gave away? Just curious where you got that little tidbit.

"Now, a lot of the outsourcing that was referred to in the question really has to do with the fact that our economy -- if it's dependent on low-wage, low-skill labor, it's very hard to hang on to those jobs because there's always a country out there that pays lower wages than the U.S. And so we've got to go after the high-skill, high-wage jobs of the future. That's why it's so important to train our folks more effectively and that's why it's so important for us to find new industries -- building solar panels or wind turbines or the new biofuel -- that involve these higher-value, higher-skill, higher-paying jobs.
So I guess the answer to the question is, not all of these jobs are going to come back. And it probably wouldn't be good for our economy for a bunch of these jobs to come back because, frankly, there's no way that people could be getting paid a living wage on some of these jobs -- at least in order to be competitive in an international setting."

Seems to me your arguements are built on sand.......one grain at a time.

Obama's right, the only way you're gonna bring back low-skills jobs once they've gone overseas is to "China-fy" U.S. wages and regulations.

Dang that pesky minimum wage, EPA and OSHA!
