(Reuters) - President Barack Obama's lead over Mitt Romney has narrowed to 4 percentage points from 11 points a month ago, now that Romney has established himself as the probable Republican presidential nominee, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Monday.

Obama was backed by 47 percent of registered voters in the telephone poll conducted from April 12-15, compared with 43 percent who supported Romney. In the same poll conducted March 8-11, Obama led Romney by 52 percent to 41 percent.

In what could be a problem for Obama in the November 6 election, 53 percent of registered voters said jobs and the economy were the most important issue in the presidential election campaign, and slightly more - 45 percent - rated Romney higher in that area than the 43 percent who favored Obama.

Yep, tied...

The latest Reuters/Ipsos poll result is a statistical dead heat; the 2 point gap on the issue is within the margin of error.

And don't forget, they are using another skewed party ID number.

A chasm of 9 points.

This is excellent news for Romney....I guess that narrative from the Left/media/dems is not working out too well.

Wait until they switch to LV.

Really! Do liberals derive pleasure by saying Willard instead of Romney or Mitt? Its getting kind of old. Id much rather engage in an intelligent conversation about poling or policy, rather than juvinile name calling.

So, back to the point... Romney is ahead in the recent Gallup, Rasmussen and Fox News polls. Furthermore, Obama's lead is narrowing with respect tp the polls conducted by Reuters. Bottom line... This is not good news for Obama.

I think this shows that the CNN poll, is probably a fluke, rather than an accurate poll, after the rest are falling in line with a race slightly in favor a Romney or within the Margin or error.

Willard is his name, I don't know how that's childish name calling like the right wingers do all the time with made up derogatory things for Obama

Fox and rasmussen have no relevance as they are well known for having a right wing bias, but the thing is Obama has been leading Willard for months and months, actually, the entire GOP field since day one.
For it to be this long with no one being in the lead for the GOP, speaks volumes of how weak they are.
Let's not forget the massive backlash against Willard from his own party, the "anyone but romney" vote supporting other candidates,..the reason Obama is going to win is from the complete disorganization in the GOP going on, and their shift to the radical right.

With that statement, you are stating that the GOP are mindless sheep that just hit (R) no matter what. While true, the backlash against Willard from his own party is very strong.
The tea party hates him, Dick armey's radical right wing freedomworks has protested against him, the "anyone but romney" sector has supported other candidates, Newt is refusing to drop out whom is going to slander romney all the way to the convention, speaking of which was looking strongly like there was going to be a brokered one, which shows complete disorganization and weakness in the GOP,..etc
Willard is going to be so beaten and battered by the time he reaches the well rested Obama, it's not going to be pretty

You're spouting the same thing that was said about Carter over Regan....and how did that end......

Haha, the mindless sheep, are the ones who are blindly going to vote for obama....no matter how bad he has hurt the economy, no matter how many times he has lied, no matter the time he has laughed in our face (that was actually caught on tape), but yet, people like you will still vote obama.

You say all this stuff, but yet statistically Mitt and barrack husein obama are tied, and we still have newt and someone else in the race......how do you explain that.

How do you explain obama being beaten by a no name republican in polls?
