Nothing epitomizes why Newt should never be the Republican nominee better than this:

Gingrich: I will go all the way to Republican convention - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

He puts his own ego above country and party. He is his own third party.

Yeah...we're in such a great place in this country right because we've put "party" first. How's that worked for us??

Country first would be best, but that's never been Gingrich's style.

Gingrich doesn't give a rat's behind about this country, as evidenced by his undying love of Alvin Toffler.

My point exactly. Newt loves himself and his ideas more than he cares about America. Actually, they are not even his ideas, he just lifts them from someone like Toffler and pretends they're his own.

Seriously, of all the major issues facing this country right now, which one is a new US State on the moon gonna solve? Newt just wants a vanity project in space with his name on it.

As a Democrat, I'm just watching this whole thing from the outside and shaking my head. I knew Newt had an ego, but to actually try to take this to the convention (Which I totally see him doing) would destroy the GOP this year. Is he really willing to have the party be THAT divided just for his own little vendetta against Romney??? Really?!?! Dang.

Newt is just a narcissistic fool. He's so self centered, which is why he's behaving this way and why he left his two previous wives. He only cares about Newt.

I'm glad he's sticking around on his book tour. This whole thing is a farce and the more obvious it becomes to everyone the better. Plus Herman Cain's out so we need the comedy.

Gingrich wants poor children to clean toilets, and he wants to send the rest of us to the moon!

Or to Cuba, after he conquers this enormous threat to world peace.
