A caucus sort of doubles as a business meeting for the local branch of the party, where they elect committee members for the next year, elect delegates, discuss platform issues, etc. Supporters of the various candidates are also allowed to make a short speech in favor of their candidates. And it's at a set time.
A primary is just like an election; the polls are open all day so you can go in anytime, cast your votes, and go home.
There are probably other differences; but as someone who has done both, those are the main ones from a practical standpoint.
