I think it has more to do with his being so far out of the picture for so long that he was never challenged on anything of substance.

He would never be able to beat Obama. If he wins this, it will be because of the evangelical vote. However, he did put all of his eggs in this basket and did work at it.

According to Fox News a few minutes ago, Santorum is #1 with several hundred votes over Romney. Paul is #3.
