Straw polls are meaningful.

If Bachmann and Cain did not win anyone of the poll, then they will not get any headline. Bachmann was a favor and she got a lot of headlines but was faded away.

Cain was never getting any attention until he won the Florida poll. Suddenly, he was on the headline everywhere and became favor of the week. There were an average of 11 or 12 article on him every day for like 2 weeks after he won the poll.

On the other hand, Paul won and do well in many polls, but simple ignored by the medias. Of course, they claims polls no longer meaningful because Paul won most of them.

This translate to me is who the people chosen is insignificant unless it is approved by the medias and corporations.
