Whatever happen to "traditional family values"? You couldn't go for a second without hearing these politically charged words during the height of the so called "Culture War" under the Bush Regime. Today talk of traditional values are noticeably absent from the campaign trail as Republicans have suffered a bruising defeat in the war they started and have decided to count their losses and move on.

You need only look on the current field of Republican candidates to appreciate the extent of their defeat in the Culture War. None of the candidates have made traditional values a part of their campaign... except perhaps for outlier Rick Santorum who has a peculiar obsession with Homosexuality.

The other candidates have pretty much decided among themselves to wave the white flag on the issue... and for good reason as they are all morally stained in one way or another. Let's take a look: Mitt Romney ascribes to a religion that once glorified the illegal practice of Polygamy and that many evangelical conservatives view as a cult; Newt Gingrich has been married and divorced enough times to make Zsa Zsa Gabor blush; Herman Cain has more women accusing him of sexual assault than Joe Paterno has victims; plus Rick Perry has had rumors circulated about his sexuality.

The only two candidates with any semblance of normalcy to their lives are Ron Paul and John Huntsman. However the radical GOP base seems frightened by their sanity.

Also lets not forget the litany of sex scandals that have plagued the GOP over the last few years... including some very salacious ones like the Larry Craig, Mark Foley, and Ted Haggard gay sex scandals. For a party that once claimed to be representing the "moral majority" this is a mighty fall.

Politics are dirty buisness and I really doubt you can find an honest politician anywhere I'm sure there are plenty of folks who believe in family values but few politicians of any party.

Straight out of the "Rules for Radicals" book from Saul Alinsky ... yet another communist wannabe

I suggest everyone read the book so you know the tactics of the liberal left attempting to destroy our country

O, I think it has to do more that the economy is in bad shape, and the people are not in the mood of hearing more culture wars crap, the topic of the day is JOBS, JOBS, JOBS, and Obama and the Democrats have failed to deliver. If the GOP campaigned on gay marriage and abortion like in the Bush years, the GOP will lose because it will be seen that they care more about social issues than the economy, when people are losing their jobs left and right and starving as a result. The people want jobs, not gay marriage, not more abortions, and the economy is going to hand Obama's butt over to the GOP. Despite what the polls say, how many times has a sitting president been reelected in bad economic times since FDR? Once or twice? I've seen a lot of people making comparisons to Carter's situation and Obama's, and it's looking similar. No wonder Obama is Jimmy Carter 2.0

If Obama wins in 2012, it will be because the GOP was not strong enough on hammering Obama on the economy and the expanded wars.

LoL, that's when you know a teabagger is cornered when they refuse to discuss the topic at hand and instead attempt to change the subject.

Of all the things facing our country, that "debate" was a joke.
