posted before I read your remarks: you and I are thinking this thing exactly the same way. In fact most Americans can see this is meaningless at best and bad for Obama at worst.
Gosh, and all NBC (obama's network) had to do was survey 12% MORE of obama voters!
I guess the 6% he won by in 2008 wasn't quite enough to get the answer they wanted.
Of course that HISTORIC election of 2010 might justify using such a number.
The question I'd be asking is why does NBC think they can FOOL the general public with these kinds of numbers?
