This is HILARIOUS. If the 'Paul people' believe they can attack and bad-mouth another candidate (i.e. all other candidates) and thereby gain support for Ron Paul, well that simply is WRONG....and turns off most everyone.

If the philosophy of smaller gov't, less taxes, fiscal responsibility and more freedom is a turnoff - then to hell with it. Ron Paul is the only candidate the Tea Party should be endorsing.
Anyone who is a conservative would not ask to give the federal government 9% in sales tax knowing what government does with taxes.
Anyone thinking about new taxes needs to find ways to remove taxes not give liberal socialist in the future to move 999 to 20 20 20 in the near future.

Remove the federal personal income tax and repeal the 16th amendment, repalce it with a constitutional amendment of 3% federal sales tax never to be increased and with it will be a balanced budget!
Then cut spending to fit that budget.
Watch the economy boom from FREE MARKETS AND FREE PEOPLE FOR ONCE and the middle class can actually make and keep the money they earn!

Actually; I personally would be willing to take the 3% up more, so long as something can be done to reconstruct access to our income with some sort of state tax regulations.
I wouldn't underestimate a future loophole where fed accesses state tax as a bailout for their lack of control.
Personally speaking; I would not complain about as much as 20% for both state and fed - that's double an acceptable church tithing!

specifically, in regard to the 2nd Amendment. Well, that seals it for me, Cain either does not understand the US Constitution or he will not uphold it if elected and sworn to do so. I'm disappointed to say the least. Cain really is just another establishment RINO.
In one breath he emphatically states he supports the 2nd Amendment and on the other he says the states have the right to restrict this Constitutionally affirmed right that "shall not be infringed".

I find that Cain's business success does not qualify him to run this country. He is a member of a party that has miserably failed this country, most recently during the horrific Bush years. During those years, this loud-mouth, blunt, fast-talker didn't express one bit of outrage at Bush or his administration while they were destroying this country. Not one protest. Bush lied to go to war, not one word from Cain. Bush turned a surplus into a record deficit, and there wasn't any point during this transition that Hermain Cain stood up to protest. He didn't complain about spending during the Bush years. Didn't complain about the record deficit, the mismanaged wars and black hole of spending that it represented. He ignored the health care crisis. He is a member of a party that is comprised of people who have nothing but disdain and disrespect for people who look just like him. He ignores the fact that for him to be marginally accepted by Republicans, he must be outrageously ultra right-wing. He's a fool to devote this portion of his life to a vastly inferior ideology of the GOP.
