New Mexico suburbs
Although New Mexican areas of Anthony, Sunland Park, and Chaparral lie adjacent to El Paso County, they are considered to be part of the Las Cruces, New Mexico metropolitan area by the United States Census Bureau.[17] Both metro areas do however, share a large commuter population, and also a media market.

How about adding:
Santa Teresa
Canutillo
La Union
Chamberino
La Mesa
San Miquel
Vado
Mesquite
Santo Tomas
San Pablo
and last but not least,
Mesilla

All of these independent communities lie between El Paso and Las Cruces, but are all within NEW MEXICO - none are in Texas.

Besides the fact that they lie in two different states, there are MANY small communities in between.

So in a nutshell - the answer is NO! Not in anyone's lifetime reading this now.

It would not be the only place in the country that has a state line dividing a metro area. The greater Cincinnati area includes Kentucky and several small communities in between (on the Kentucky side, mostly). St. Louis Missouri and East St. Louis Il- divided by the Mississippi, even and there are many smaller towns between the two.

It's not that unlikely.

So why don't you explain to readers why you believe there will be one huge metroplex (across state lines) SOON.

It had nothing to do with your point of view/opinion. I was commenting on the rolls eye icon. Was that really necessary?

Wow. Both cities are growing at a healthy clip right?

Exactly! I used to live in KC and I had lived on the Kansas and Missouri sides. Currently living in Texarkana which lies in both Tx and Ark.
