A Florida high school teacher arrested for allegedly punching a student won't face charges, the St. Petersburg Times reported.
Sandra Hadsock, a veteran teacher at Central High School, was caught on a cell phone video earlier this month confronting a student who called her vulgar names.
First...its an easy case of self defense.
Second...I would of course press charges against the student in criminal court.
Third...If the school district doesn't give her her job back, you of course sue the school district.
Fourth...I would also file a civil lawsuit against the student .
I'm in Florida and mark my words - there is NO way she is getting her job back. That's not how it works here.
She is supposed to duck, cover, run, whatever, but TAKE it.
She's done.
Now who wants to come down to Florida to teach? (try the local high school in my town where a 300 lb boy body slammed a small female teacher into a desk twice. He is finally in jail but only because he raped a girl in the back of the school bus)
I'm sure she was too, a teacher is only human and can only take so much. When you are being bullied, and pushed, guess your protective instincts take over right or wrong, she was scared.
Students these days, also need to learn respect. If you can push a teacher for whatever reason, what does that say a student will do to a Mother, if they are pissed. The language used by the student, was not appropriate either.
