So, I know this is a thing in other countries, and I believe it should be for us in the USA, but I just cannot see it happening. Not with Big Business controlling the Government and people blindingly committed to tradition and technology. Still, I would love to have someone here give me some hopeful information.
If its economic growth through imaginary money printing, then as long as it benefits society as a whole directly, and not just a few individuals bank accounts w/ trickle down effect, then so-called economic growth is viable.
Money printing becomes unsustainable when few benefit disproportionately geometrically, and the rest of us get measly trickling.
Nobody is forcing you to create economic growth/wealth. You are free to pursue your dreams OP. It's a free country. There are plenty of people living on the street already pursuing your dream. But I don't think it would work out any better for the rest of us if we joined them.
What is “securing human needs and well-being” (from the article)? If we stop “mass produced meat and dairy”, that means that most people are going to be forced to become vegetarians, or outright vegans. How does that promote “well-being”?
The basic idea of sustainability and better public services has merit. But… who is going to pay for it? The problem with utopian visions, is that they’re costly, and not self-funding. Once we realize that funding is absent, the dream collapses.

This blind idealism has failed and brought misery and death to millions of people. If you really want natural collectivism, go join an Amish or Hudderite colony to see it done privately or live on a Native American reservation if you want to see it done through the government. On a small scale is where it works best so long as you have good leadership. Of course, you are powerless to change leadership if it becomes bad.
Otherwise quit lying to people about how this works elsewhere. It doesn't. It never has. It never will. Your hopeful information is to not waste time on this failed ideology.

People eating less dairy and meat is better for their health. They do not even have to eat more veg or carbs.
But it expounds an ideology that ultimately makes everybody equally poor.
