Daughter Chris has noticed with new foster Jai....her front leg....here is a pic where she is putting her full weight on the leg....it doesn't appear to hurt her or hinder her in any way, shape or form....Chris has push and felt, pulled and prodded and Jai doesn't seem fazed....ideas?

I would have the vet check it out. FAST.
Being the pup is so young, the vet might be able to splint the foot/leg & help the bone along. The vet we had when I was a kid did that. It worked, too.
Hopefully now a days they have a better solution of fixing it.

Please let us know what happens..

Shelby,

Labradors will often have displastic elbows/wrists as puppies that make them look bow-legged like that (I think some bully breeds as well, but I'm not sure), if Jai has some lab in her veins it may be an explanation. With labs, it often corrects itself before 1 year of age. I would definitely get a veterinary opinion, but I wouldn't start to panic just yet.

My black lab had this as a puppy. He is fine now but he limped for the first few months we had him. We called it his strut and man did he milk it for attention!!

He had the same pose..sitting down with one paw slightly in the air and some sad eyes!!

I would recommend making a trip to the vet to be sure. Oh, and super-cute pup, BTW!

Thanks all. I said the same...being so young, they might splint or cast it to correct the bone. Sent all your posts onto Chris. Best we have found so far, she is American Staffordshire Bull....maybe some mix. Found in a bait pen with her twin brother in a dog fighting raid done in Miami last week...lots of scratches, dehydrated...but not used for her intended purpose yet. I'm sure she had never been vet checked until she was delivered to Shy Wolf. But they had not said anything to Chris about her leg. As I said, it doesn't bother her at all, nor slow her down.

I've seen dogs with toilet paper rolls as splints or casts before.

All I know is that she's gorgeous. And that I hate anyone who wanted to use her -- or any dog -- as bait. {shiver}

Miss Jai has a vet appt. tomorrow at 3:45. (Does this mean Chris has made the decision to keep her?)
