In the local newspaper this morning there was a beautiful story about devotion, and the relationship between an elderly lady and her dog. It is a very poignant story (made me sob) but it is also very uplifting. I recommend it.....but if you have a soft heart....be prepared to be moved....deeply. A community's caring tempers painful loss of a companion | Portland Press Herald

Animal relationships are so very precious....and there are times when a dog seems to come into your life just when you need them the most...sometimes both you and the dog...need to be rescued and need to love and to be loved. I have had that experience and I thank God for it.

What a beautiful story. It's nice that they had each other for even a short time.

Oh...what a story! I feel so sorry for those who have never known such unconditional love from any animal.

Brody was heaven sent to keep Miss Ethel company, no doubt. It's a very poignant love story.

"The little stories – those are the big ones," Campbell said Thursday. "Those are the ones that transform us all, that show us we're not in this alone."

Truer words were never spoken.
And yes, Ethel is going to be lonely now without her good friend Brody.
