Okay, i'm going to start a strange discussion. and lets also say MEN you may want to stop reading.

My Jack Russel has had a litter of 4 and within 24 hrs my other female jack and myself started our cycles, I was 2 wks early!! This is not the 1st time either. She triggered it last litter too, also early!
Now I've heard of women's cycles going together, but come on now, MY DOG!
The 1st time I wrote it off as stress. This time I know it's because of HER!

So, anyone else find this amusing, or have similiar exper.?

BTW, getting rid of last puppy today (present for fathers day), and should have 4 more coming next week. Fun! Fun!

Default Just a crazy thought

.... did you ever consider spaying them? Last time I looked on Petfinders, there were no shortages of the breed.

I tend to be someone who over plans their life, and it's probably a weakness. When something happens once that complicates my life, I try to look for ways to keep it from happening again. Maybe you like the little surprises in life, and that's okay with me, too.

We are going to get the older 1 spayed. We didn't want her to have this last litter as she is 8, and we tried, apparently not good enough, because in a 1/2 hr time, our male jack, who can stay in the pen for hours and not even try and brake out, decided he was going to brake INTO the cage and get what he wanted, and then stay and gloat. We love our jacks and the puppies get scooped up quickly, some spoken for before they are even here. They are good FUN dogs, most who see them out with us enjoy them. Our oldest rides the motorcycle, and if Dh goes to the store, she'll sit right there on the bike and wait. She always draws comments. We enjoy them very much and they are quite spoiled.

I personally think a litter should be totally planned, clearances and testings all done w/ the intention to improve the breed, not just reproduce. I'm sure you think your dogs are great, but don't we all. To me, any unplanned pregnancy is negligence.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, BUT the topic was supposed to be about a DOG throwing a womans cycle off. Not about unplanned pregnancy. I dont agree in abortions for me or my dogs, (i am now fixed as will be 1 of my dogs next Tues) ..........and as Oogway says " There are No accidents" :-)

Ok, I have 4 sisters and no brothers. Growing up, sometimes our cycles hit all at the same time or one after the other..my Mom went nutz as did my Dad with the PMS-ing going on. I have never heard that humans and dogs can run the same cycle...very interesting. OMG....MY Pit Bull is spayed and getting fat...does this explain why I am also fat....only kidding...just a little levity here.

Any pictures of your puppies for us??

Looks like you're "getting rid" of the puppies by giving them out as gifts. Swellll.
On behalf of all responsible pet owners, get a clue.

JRT's no less. Sickening.

Do you dogs have Ch titles and OFA certs? If not, why breed, when so many jacks are killed daily?
