Former French President Jacques Chirac was rushed to a hospital after being mauled by his pet dog who is being treated for depression, in a dramatic incident that rattled the ex-president's wife.

The couple's white Maltese poodle, called Sumo, has a history of frenzied fits and became increasingly prone to making "vicious, unprovoked attacks" despite receiving treatment with anti-depressants, Chirac's wife Bernadette said.

I don't trust some of those antidepressants. It's probably the pills that pushed the dog over the edge.

Personally, I prefer mutts. No inbreeding.

The French do LOVE their dogs...!

I wouldn't have my dog doped up on that crap either.
Maybe they should consult Ceser Milan.

I would be willing to bet that the dog is quite spoiled and poorly trained.

Sounds like it is a mutt (poodle/maltese mix) Scary though, curious how old the dog is and whether it had any training (would think it must have esp. w/ its history), not that it matters at this point, someone needs to work w/ the dog if they plan on keeping it, maybe it has a medical problem if it's old etc, I dont know as pills are really the way to go either.
