Just got our new Basset Hound puppy (male 12 weeks old) and my BF and I are in the process of naming him. Instead of giving him a typical dog name I'd like to give him a traditional old english name or name him after someone famous as Bassets are known for having the superiority complex attitude but of course in a loving way!

Here is what I've come up with - Winston, Bogart, Sherlock, Elvis, Francis, Pierre

Please help with Suggestions!!

If it's Bogart you could call him Bogey for short... how cute!!

I like Sherlock...like Sherlock Holmes. He's a hound, he'll have his nose to the ground searching for clues (or food, or a hot babe of a hound...).

the funny thing with sherlock holmes is that my middle name is actually Holmes suprisingly. Its a family thing, Holmes is my fathers, and grandfathers middle name. so thats why I was considering Sherlock (Holmes)
