Thanks everyone for your thoughts, I appreciate the constructive ones and am dismayed at those who make broad assumptions and pontificate. I was asking for advise from those who have had similar situations because I'd rather not re-invent the wheel and appreciate your comments. I will say having a puppy is much like having a toddler, I cannot watch him 24/7 and while I use a crate and will invest in gates I am positive none of those remedies will be 100% puppy proof. There will be accidents and I believe before he's done chewing something will be destroyed no matter how diligent we are. Judy ate my favorite pair of shoes, my fault of course, I forgot and left them where she could get them but that's my point, accidents happen.
