When Dave is panting after a good run, his tongue curls at the end .... a good inch or so of it curls up like a scoop.....

Am wondering if this is a trait specific to certain breed(s) or if it is just a quirk found in some dogs.....

his momma is a predominantly lab mix, his daddy is anybody's guess.... i do suspect there is a lot of boxer, based on how he leaps and bounds like a deer when he is running and playing..... he also exhibits boxer "play boxing" when he is playing...... i have thought at times there may be some hound in there too, but he just doesn't have that "hound nose" ..... bailey's nose is better than his is......

My friend around the corner who has two Labs? Both Labs do that. It's freakin' adorable.

I've seen a lot of different breeds do it. It is cute but I don't think its breed specific

My dog that I think is American Bulldog mix does it. When she's licking something out of a bowl she always gets splatters on her face. I've never had another dog that did that so I think it's due to curling her tongue too much.

PC always does that. I think dogs with giant, long tongues have no choice but to curl it when panting.

My poodle's tongue hangs out the side and curls a bit towards the end of a long walk. She needs a long walk or she behaves like a lunatic all evening.

Sometimes Odie's tongue curls and sometimes it's flat. I've noticed his tongue is flat, long and hanging out his mouth when he's really tired!

Have any pics of Dave's curlicue tongue?
