Without knowing much about that specific location, it's probably as safe of an area as you would find anywhere in metro Detroit. That area is in the upper middle class part of the suburbs. If you are new to the Detroit area, the upper middle class/upper class areas on the northwest side are: Bloomfield Hills, West Bloomfield, Novi, Farmington Hills, Walled Lake, and Commerce Township, pretty much.

lots of traffic, but nice area. my aunt and uncle live near there.

My parents have lived in the subdivision directly West of 14 mile and Halsted Rd for 20 years. I used to live with them until I was in my 20's. Safe area, it's a non- issue. It is an upper middle class area, homes are well cared for.
