One more question: If we are moving out in September, when is the best time to start looking for a place?
yah, free - in denver you shouldn't have trouble finding guys like kicksavedave to PAY you to stay with them maybe try highlands (potter highlands, not highlands ranch) if you're looking for a house to rent. cap hill can be nice, pretty young, pretty relatively affordable, but maybe slightly less "safe" feeling in parts of it (the cheezman area can be pretty nice esp around 8-11th st./lafayette to maybe logan or sherman). congress park might also work for you, though cap hill and highlands are probably a little closer to some of the social stuff it sounds like you might be more into. there is a LOT available these days, so, rentals won't be hard to come by and for ~$2500, you'll prob find something VERY nice.
