Great post Zion, and I totally believe you on the flat earth society. Even worse and more dangerous IMO, is the Holocaust deniers. This group that believes the Holocaust was pre-engineered by the Jews. Total whackos.

BTW: I don't think the OP is here anymore as they first posted in April.

I find it difficult to believe that whites can relate to what black people go through in life. I realize I can't change my outer appearance, but I can change how I react to things. I can keep my dignity and know who I am as a person. I can also choose to live in and put myself around people I feel care about me and don't judge me, It's not to say that denver doesn't have racism, its just that I would rather live in CO than say, Mississippi or GA, places known for their overt racism and palpable racism.

Very aware, it's happened recently where I have had people come up to me after deciding I'm racist/sexist/whatever-ist and tell me about it....because I happen to be standing around being a white male. Even worse when the people who do it, and know nothing about me as they are complete strangers, call it equality.

When it gets shoved in my face, yeah I get more mindful of it. It happened in more liberal places then Denver, which really surprised me.

There are some really crazy conspiracy theorists, some are really outright hilarious. One was posted in Slashdot that the moon was a giant light so liberals could spy on people using guns in their backyard, because they said they could find no literary reference to the moon before 1950.

It was a few months ago, I need to find that again for a good laugh It happens, I think it's because I'm near the university...you get some weird people there. I swear I saw some one singing to his foot one day.

This was posted there too, not quite a conspiracy theory but a great laugh:

Smithsonian Institution
207 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, DC 20078
Dear Mr. Williams:

Thank you for your latest submission to the Institute, labeled "93211-D, layer seven, next to the clothesline post . . .Hominid skull". We have given this specimen a careful and detailed examination, and regret to inform you that we disagree with your theory that it represents conclusive proof of the presence of Early Man in Charleston County two million years ago.

Rather, it appears that what you have found is the head of a Barbie Doll, of the variety that one of our staff, who has small children, believes to be "Malibu Barbie". It is evident that you have given a great deal of thought to the analysis of this specimen, and you may be quite certain that those of us who are familiar with your prior work in the field were loathe to come to contradiction with your findings. However, we do feel there are a number of physical attributes of the specimen which might have tipped you off to its modern origin:

1. The material is molded plastic. Ancient hominid remains are typically fossilized bone.

2. The cranial capacity of the specimen is approximately 9 cubic centimeters, well below the threshold of even the earliest identified proto-homonids.

3. The dentition pattern evident on the skull is more consistent with the common domesticated dog than it is with the ravenous man-eating Pliocene clams you speculate roamed the wetlands during that time.

This latter finding is certainly one of the most intriguing hypotheses you have submitted in your history with this institution, but the evidence seems to weigh rather heavily against it. Without going into too much detail, let us say that:

A. The specimen looks like the head of a Barbie doll that a dog has chewed on.

B. Clams don't have teeth.

It is with feelings tinged with melancholy that we must deny your request to have the specimen carbon-dated. This is partially due to the heavy load our lab must bear in its normal operation, and partly due to carbon-dating's notorious inaccuracy in fossils of recent geologic record. To the best of our knowledge, no Barbie dolls were produced prior to 1956 AD, and carbon-dating is likely to produce wildly inaccurate results. Sadly, we must also deny your request that we approach the National Science Foundation Phylogeny Department with the concept of assigning your specimen the scientific name Australopithecus spiff-arino. Speaking personally, I, for one, fought tenaciously for the acceptance of your proposed taxonomy, but was ultimately voted down because the species name you selected was hyphenated, and didn't really sound like it might be Latin.

However, we gladly accept your generous donation of this fascinating specimen to the museum. While it is undoubtedly not a Hominid fossil, it is, nonetheless, yet another riveting example of the great body of work you seem to accumulate here so effortlessly. You should know that our Director has reserved a special shelf in his own office for the display of the specimens you have previously submitted to the Institution, and the entire staff speculates daily on what you will happen upon next in your digs at the site you have discovered in your Newport back yard. We eagerly anticipate your trip to our nation's capital that you proposed in your last letter, and several of us are pressing the Director to pay for it.

We are particularly interested in hearing you expand on your theories surrounding the trans-positating fillifitation of ferrous ions in a structural matrix that makes the excellent juvenile Tyrannosaurus Rex femur you recently discovered take on the deceptive appearance of a rusty 9-mm Sears Craftsman automotive crescent wrench.

Yours in Science,
Harvey Rowe
Chief Curator-Antiquitie

I see. Here's where my confusion lies:

healthcare jobs? (dated 9/2/2008)
Hi,
I have been posting threads about 1st time homebuying in Denver and I appreciate all the info I have gotten and read so far, this is very helpful to me as I grew in COSP and not familiar with the residential aspect of Denver, now I need to consider the work environment. I currently work as a traveling technologist, and I plan to settle in Denver, since CO is my home state and I prefer city life.
Does anyone out there have thoughts/insights on the healthcare employment status of Denver? I haven't applied anywhere yet, and I've never worked in Denver, so I don't know what the jobs are like.
Will I have a hard time finding a job? I am an MRI tech. Any ideas of wages? It seemed like they are expanding the Fitzsimmons area to become part of Univ of CO Health System? does anyone know anything about this project?
thanks!

I've never worked in Denver, you don't seem to understand my job, I travel. So I work 2 - 3 months at a time out of state. When I'm back, I live with a roommate in S. Denver until my next assignment until I leave again.
I have not lived in Denver to know what the schools are like, working situation, hospital employment, etc. I date, go out socially, etc. I've just started to househunt, which is why I asked about city neighborhoods where I want to live.
Hope that clears it up for you? why do you care? I was responding the the OP post about my racials experiences in Denver.
why do you care so much what I post?

Happy Holidays to you, take care.

Most of what you post on Denver, what it's like, etc. seems a little over the top considering you don't live or work here. That's almost like saying you know all about Cancun when you just go there a couple times a year to your timeshare.
