Hi, we are staying at the Brown Palace, dinner at Rioja and then a show at Lannies.

Will the free shuttle I have heard of near the 16th Street Mall work for these stops?

Thanks

Did a bit of searching Google Maps, looks like we only need the shuttle from the hotel to dinner, for all other walks I can take flip flops in my purse.

Well, anything yall can tell me about the one short shuttle ride would be great, thanks!

Do locals take it?
Is it safe at night?

The shuttle is very safe and mostly locals who are downtown take it.

Yes, you can use the Mall shuttle to get to your destinations. It is very safe at night as the area is heavily patrolled and well lighted. In addition, it is not a dead downtown, you will see many people, as people live, work and recreate downtown. The main web page for the shuttle is:
http://www.rtd-denver.com/FreeMallRideSchedules.shtml (broken link)

This is a map for the shuttle, You can see the Brown Palace on this map:

The main page for the Regional Transportation District:

Brown Palace is a small walk to the Mall.
Lannie is in the Tower at Skyline Park, right on the 16th Street Mall. Rioja is down on Larimer, an easy walk, with lots to see, from the Mall.

I work downtown every day and take the shuttle. I've taken it at all hours of the night and it's very safe. You'll like it! Just remember that while the Mall is a pedestrian mall, there are streets running through it, so watch out for traffic!

The Brown Palace and Rioja are less than a mile from each other (.7), and Lannies is in-between. I consider that an easy walk, but if you wanted to take the free shuttle it would be very convenient as it stops within 2 blocks of each of your three destinations.

All of these places are so close to each other that you could just walk the whole distance and enjoy the sites. The shuttle is totally safe and fine but you will experience less if you just walk the mall.

Thanks everyone! A bit of walking is always nice especially after vacation eating! I'll toss some flip flops in my purse. My high heels have time limits...

I have only been to CO straight to a ski resort so I'm looking forward to Denver!

Actually, I'd be sure to bring a good set of tennies instead of the flip flops.
