Moving to Lakewood next month and looking at my options. Two strikes already against Comcast are:
1. They have a terrible reputation here in Phila (where they're based, ironically) and just about everyone I know dropped their Internet service.
2. I can't get any useful information from their web site. For some reason my new address sends me right to a Chat person, who directs me to a web link that doesn't work - not a good sign, even before they have my business.

So how's Qwest and am I being too hard on Comcast?
Any talk about FIOS coming to town? That's what I have now and it's great.

Quest DSL is awesome. Very fast, up to 20mb i think. Seems very relaible too. The downside to quest is the terrible customer service.

It depends. I'm apparently farther from a hub, so my Qwest tops out at 1.5, and I rarely get that. Fine for regular surfing, but not so great for long videos. My connection drops several times a week, and I have to reset the modem. I call the CS, and they tell me everything is fine. I'm not very happy with them.

I have Qwest at work and Comcast at home. I had to upgrade my Qwest account recently due to slow speeds. Now it's better. We don't have many problems with Comcast and any time we needed service they were extremely helpful and polite. Maybe just getting out of Philly and coming to Denver is all you really need for a pleasant experience.

We've had Quest DSL since late March (in Centennial), and no problems whatsoever.

I can't stand comcast and their never-ending junk mail (even though I already DO subscribe to cable and cable internet), but I have to admit that I haven't had any problems in nearly the three years that I've been living in Denver. The internet is fast and reliable and the cable is fine, too. I haven't had any outages.

I also haven't used Qwest or any other service, though, so I can't really compare to others.

I had Qwest DSL. It was the kind of thing that you'd setup and never have to touch again.

Default Go Qwest!

Go Qwest, Comcast has terrible service, would never recommend them to anyone.

I agree completely with Kong1139...plus Comcast will raise your rates if you get cable through them almost every month...with Qwest you have Directv...and while the satellite gets blocked from vision in really bad weather...I still prefer Dtv over Comcast...

As far as Fiber Optics...which we DON'T HAVE....Qwest online customer service person told me "you have to get on a list for that so they will know where the demand is." ??? Excuse me? Qwest handled the entire Democratic Convention, yet they can't give us "mere citizens" Fiber Optics? We NEED it...we have 3 computers on Qwest's DSL...mine is the main one, the other two suffer...definitely faster than dialup...but not good for speed...if you get my meaning...their DSL is not that fast...but Comcast will NEVER have access to our home...
