That superstition comes from his 95 year old grandmother, so who knows what it's about! Anything she says is "gospel", and she's given some odd advice for the babies. I think we argued about putting rice in their formula too early, because she said we needed to "fill those babies' stomachs" and then they'd sleep through the night. The dr. said it was too early, but then my partner said, "she raised 10 kids and they're all fine. She knows what she's talking about!" My reply was that she's using techniques from a hundred years ago, but oh well, they've survive and are doing great.

I just moved from NYC and would like to find a dominican hair salon in Denver..I am half white and half black and have always gone to Dominican hairs salons to get my hair washed and set...Is there any Dominican Salons out here? Please help it's been 3 weeks already. It's not so bad now because of the hot wheather I've been wearing my hair curly but I'll need to know where to go by at least September or so...

Welcome to NaturallyCurly.com!

There is a salon here in Highlands that supposedly specializes in curly hair and the Deva method, a NY thing. I'm thinking of going here as soon as I get the guts. I've had some real horror stories from stylists here, so be very careful in choosing. Shapes Salon and Studio: a Denver, Colorado salon specializing in Schwarzkopf hair color and curly hair.

Anyway, not to divert...but can I ask what line of work you are in? I noticed you said you were tired of lack of jobs and I'm planning a move to Miami in about 1 1/2 - 2 yrs. Thanks!
@DenverLawGal, do you still like this salon? I'm thinking after a decade of cutting my own hair, it's time for a professional cut, maybe. But your post was from 3 years ago, and I know salons change over time. I don't know if I had my hair down when we met, but it leans towards kinky/curly. I usually have to use a lot of product or wear it in a braid.
