I'll be visiting Denver for the Fourth of July. Once I arrive (Sunday), I'll need to find -- and get to -- an inexpensive/safe motel in southeast metro area. I'd really appreciate any ideas!

-- Motel recommendations in metro southeast (maybe under $50/night)?
-- How to get there from Denver airport by bus ... on Sunday?

Thanks!

What do you mean by "southeast metro"? Are we talking Fitzsimmons, Aurora Reservoir, the town of Parker, Denver Tech Center?

The Sleep Inn in the Tech Center tends to get good reviews and is showing at $51/night for the 3rd and 4th. I-25 and Arapahoe Road, which is the epitome of "metro southeast."

I checked out places back in January of 2011, when I wasn't sure if the friend I was planning on staying with would be back from her business trip. There were a few that might fit your needs. However, since it's a holiday weekend (and the summer), I'm not sure if they will be higher.

LaQuinta in Aurora (1011 South Abilene St, Aurora 80012) was $59
Denver's Best Inn and Suites (4590 Quebec St, 80216) said it was only $34 a night!
Best Western (3737 Quebec St 80207) - was $69 a night
Crossland & Homestead (2 separate hotels in Cherry Creek) both were under $70 a night

I can't vouch for how their service was...my friend got back in time, so I didn't get a hotel.

I think they use a fire hose to clean the rooms at the hotel 6. Rubber floors, thin walls and nasty. Avoid. RP

Try Priceline. Search with the keywords Englewood, CO or Denver Tech Center. You will find several hotels in the area. Getting one under $50 might be hard on a three-day holiday weekend.

And given that Denver is a bedbug hotspot, you may want to visit the bedbug registry sites. Bedbugregistry.com and Bedbugdatabase.com - and yeah, I'm a little paranoid about that kind of thing.
