I'm looking for some input on the Denver International Airport: driving to it from Ft. Collins vs. using the Green Ride shuttle. I have never driven to/through the airport and I have relatives coming in and out of town over the next 2 weeks. I don't mind the drive to Denver, but from what I've heard, the airport roads and parking can be pretty confusing and hectic, especially with all the construction. The shuttle only costs $29 one way, but I'd like to be able to KNOW with a little confidence how to get around the airport. How bad is it lately and is it worth the $ to avoid it? Thanks in advance for any input.

The construction is blocking access to the west side short-term parking right outside the terminal ($3) and pick-up areas but there is some signage on where to go instead. Not sure if they've improved it lately but last month it was a little confusing. If you do drive there, you want to follow the signs for the $2 short-term parking which is the parking garage area. I don't know anything about construction on the east side.

If you want to drive, but avoid navigating the airport itself, then use one of the off-airport shuttle parking lots. I prefer the USA lot on Tower Rd. $2/hour + tax. They pickup/dropoff at your car.

Just dont drive during rush hour or pay for the toll road and you'll be good. Just made the drive last night and even with some heavy rain it wasn't a problem. The east terminal is completely normal, just aim to park there.

I was out there this morning. It takes less than 5 minutes extra with all the construction and I was coming from 40 minutes away. So a little different but I'm not complaining.

The construction at the airport is no big deal at all. The bigger issue is the night-time lane closures on 70 that bring it down to 1 lane, but you probably won't be heading that way from Ft Collins.

Thank you...I had the shuttle pick up the first wave of arrivals and I'll be brave and go pick up the next wave. Thanks everyone.
