In Boston, with a Boston Public Library card, you can reserve free tickets for 4 people for many local museums & the aquarium... a great deal since tix are upwards of $20. Also, there are several small kiosks across the city (BosTix) where you can purchase same day, 1/2-priced tix for ballets & plays. I like to see at least 1 ballet or play per month, so something like this in Denver would be optimal.

I've been searching around online & don't find anything similar here... I'm assuming I'm just not seeing it. If anyone knows of any artsy discounts or freebies, either in Denver, Boulder or any other nearby city where I can get discounts on ballet, theatre or museum tix, I'll adore you forever.

Also, there must be a free local magazine, such as Creative Loafing in Atlanta (well, it used to be free in the late 80's) or the Boston Phoenix ($1.50 last time I purchased one) where I can find out about local goings-on. Is there a local magazine (or website) & where can I find it?

Thank you very much!

There are free days for CO residents at the zoo, art museum, natural history museum, botanic gardens and many other places.

For local goingson, there is Westword.

Katiana... Thank you. Just looked up westword.com! I wasn't aware of it, so I do really appreciate it!
