Christine Manor is an excellent neighborhood. I've lived in Delaware all my life and know New Castle County really well, and when we could afford to move to a better area found a home less than a mile from Christine Manor... in fact, before we found it, we fell in love with a home on Dixon Drive but someone beat us to it!

I love it here. It's close to several large parks, and the University offers a lot of things to do and places to walk. It's far enough away from the college kids housing, but close enough to all the inexpensive restaurants. It's quiet and feels safe. Taxes are low here in Delaware, but Maryland & Pennsylvania are right next door.

How far will your husband have to drive for work? It takes me about 30 minutes to drive to my job in Wilmington, my husband goes much further, about 1.5 hours. He works above Philadelphia.

Her DH would be going to Aberdeen, Mikandmari. That is why they are looking at the western end of the county. Christine Manor is known to have some septic problems so OP must make sure that the septic system is not marginal prior to buying.

Hello Krodcat, I just so happen to be a resident of Christine Manor and have to say I love it. It is not your typical Newark DE neighborhood in that the houses are not ontop of each other and there are alot of trees from before the neighborhood went up. We are not compleatly part of Newark although a few houses are anxed into Newark and those homes have sewer ran to them. It is a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood that I plan on being in for a long time.

I grew up in Christine Manor, and my parents built our house on Dixon Drive! I moved away in 1980, but I have to say, it was the best place to grow up. I hope those of you that are blessed to live there love it as much I did (and do)! I would love to move back one day!
