Hello all,

I have the option to move to Newark Delaware, or surrounding areas, for my job. This would be a temporary move, maybe about 2 years, but I would really like to purchase a place there. I have no idea where the safe neighborhoods are as I have only been there once to visit for a couple of hours and after reading reviews online, I am a little hesitant about the move. Can someone please lista couple of good neighborhoods/sections of Newark Delaware. I found a nice looking home in the Iron Hill/ Four Seasons sections that is close to Glasgow border.

All comments and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Marc

Whether or not a locations makes sense for you is based on many things -- do you have kids? Are schools a factor? what style home do you want? size (beds/baths)? how much yard do you want if any? do you want a university/college town vibe? do you want a more rural feel? etc. etc..
I can't think of any areas in Newark that are completely "unsafe".. You decision should really be driven by your specific desires and good input from a real estate agent re: re-sale potential for the property.. The latter point is more important for you than most people since you have identified up front that you are moving relatively quickly (2 years). Lastly, be sure to ask your agent about Delaware State Housing programs that help with subsidized interest rates and even down payment assistance...
