We have family coming from NY who won't be able to leave until the end of the work day.
From a native of Delaware: Depends on how you intend to pick up Rt. 113. If you exit Coastal Hwy. at Milford to pick up 113, you've already been through the Little Heaven tangled traffic and have lost a lot of time. I wouldn't do that. If it was me, I wouldn't go south to the beaches any time between Thursday Morning and Sunday Night. (I travel the whole state almost every day, and have learned when, and when not to go south). However, you asked, so I would take Route 13 south to Harrington and take Milford-Harrington Hwy. East to Rt. 113, or I'd motor on down to Bridgeville and take Rt. 404 East on Seashore Hwy. which will lead you to Rt. 113. Nothing like it was in 1946 when our family took daily trips to Indian River to fish and camp along the ocean. Gone are those days.

The boardwalk and Rehoboth Avenue were full of people earlier today, buying tee shirts and munching on Thrasher’s fries. Funland opened for the first time this afternoon so the sounds of bump cars, skee-ball and kids having fun have returned. It’s starting to feel like summer.

Spent the day cleaning the garage and then moving pots of plants to more protected areas in the event we wind up with the rain as predicted. By 3:30 it was getting chilly and by 4:15 it was downright cold more to follow this week.

Huge volleyball tournament on the beach today. Too bad it’ll be rainy.

Also too bad we’re leaving, but the city calls. Come on down and take our place. Looks like it’s shaping up to be another beautiful week once the rain clears out. Enjoy!

Nuts, you would know, since you live in the Rehoboth area, are they any new flower/garden roadside stands that have popped up? I know about Farmer Girl, and a couple other older ones. Did you get the wind and how's the rain? Looks like miserable weather will be hanging around all week down there. Here in Kent County, we've been having a slow, continual, drizzle.

First Happy Mothers Day on this dreary day. Tomato Sunshine is reopening.

I have not passed there yet but will make it my business to detour on one of my trips this week to check it out. There is always Blessing's around milepost 36 for plants on Route 1. Between Lewes and Blessing's there are a few. but I was not impressed this week when I headed up for a wake in Newark. Farmer Girl and Windsors. The Farmers Market opened in Rehoboth in Grove Park this week and I spied a few plants from the road, but this week was just a "run from pillar to post" week. This coming week is a little bit slower, but it will be cold, mostly in the 50's to low 60's.

It is miserable here. I just checked the web cam for the beach and the flagpole is flagless and whipping around.

Thanks for the travel advice rdlr. We've been back and forth to Harrington a few times and take 16 between 113 and 13.

You're welcome. Enjoy your travels here, minus the construction slowdowns and bad weather this coming week.
