Hi!

Very soon I'm moving to DE to work at the Dupont Experimental Station. I'd like to live nearby in safe area, but have no idea in what neighborhoods I should be looking. Also, what's a reasonable range to expect if I wanted to live alone?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'd look to the Northeast along Route 202 corridor. Just using Google from the location of the Experimental Station, I'd suggest the Brandywine Hundred apartments. Studios and 1-BR run $900-1175/month. Maybe also the Brandywine Hills Apts closer to I-95. Also look along the Naamans Road area. The SDK Stratford Apts run $900-1200/ month.

A friend also lives north along the Kennett Pike (Route 52), and it is a nice area.

You could look at Greenville Place. Also check out the trolley square area if you want to be near some walkable night life.
What type if environment are you looking for?

Thanks for your replies! I'm more interested in safety than nightlife right now... any areas to definitely AVOID?

I just want to second Greenville Place. The nice thing about there is that they also offer short term leases if you want to do that to get a feel for which areas you like.
