Hi everyone,
It looks like the Air Force will be moving us to Dover DE the first part of next year. I have some questions I am trying to get answered. A good realtor for the area around dover? And are there area's where it would be affordable to buy a house with a little acreage to have our 2 horses on? We have 2 children, 4 and 2 and baby #3 due in December. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Christine

You might want to look at Hartly, DE. Go on realtor.com and there is a selection for horses allowed and horse facilities.

Lucky you! We've been trying to get down to Dover for 2 years now LOL!

Houses on acerage are a little scarce in Dover area last time I looked...South of Dover is pretty open though, check out realtor.com like already mentioned. When we looked at property there last year, most houses were on less than 1 acre, and there was little land for sale. Not to say there is not a lot of open areas there, but most of it is private farmland so it seems...

While you are at Dover, be sure to try out Shucker's pier 9 on the main strip north of DAFB. Where Pigs Fly is another good resturant too. They have nice facilities on base, we have been there a few times.

I lived in the area for over 10 years. There are quite a few nice towns close to Dover, which should meet your needs. I suggest you call Harrington Realty (ERA Franchise). They are very familiar with the area and Mike Harrington Jr. is a very good guy. He may also be able to suggest some local stables in the event you don't purchase acreage. Once you move there, be sure to do July 4th on the Green....don't forget your picnic basket! Enjoy Dover!
