If the pastry was really free you would not have to buy anything to get it. The only things in the world that are really free is the rain the sun and the air.
Oh and the germs you'll get from the filthy hands on the Starbucks barista handing you the pastry !
I got my 'it wasn't free but I didn't have to pay for it' pastry.
The line wasn't too bad at all. We took turns at work going around the block to get ours. It actually added a little fun to the day. They didn't end up asking for coupons at all.
I don't have one near me either, if fact I've never even been in a Starbucks. I don't even drink coffee ! I guess I should apologize to all the Starbucks baristas for my juvenile attempt at humor at their expense. I'm sure that their hands don't have any more germs than any other food service workers hands.
I thought that Starbucks was going to start serving beer and wine soon. Maybe just a rumor.
