Where should someone from out of town stay?
I have been looking at a few hotels downtown, and I saw two that I like they are pretty much close to everything, but what about uptown??

Just wondering

Kind of the same thing.

If you have cash, stay at Hotel Palomar or Hotel Zaza.

Downtown probably has more options and is closer to all the activity. Somewhere like the Sheraton or Westin are right on the DART line and easily walkable to the streetcar (to Uptown), while the Joule is more central to activity on Main Street but not far from DART. Zaza or Crescent Court are good options for Uptown that put you close to the Arts District of downtown.

Downtown is great but I don't know where you get that it is closer to all the activity than uptown.

Sheraton and Weston also great for Arts District activities and DART rail. You could also easily walk there from The Crescent, Ritz-Carlton and Za Za in Uptown but you will have a few more streets to cross - you can also catch the McKinney Avenue Trolley from those. If you want to party on Main, The Joule is the obvious choice. W is also an option, especially if you are going to the AAC. There are a couple of suite hotels in the West End and near the Stoneleigh Hotel..

Stay at The W Hotel in victory park if you enjoy trendy and artistic.
