Hello!

Does the Dallas area have the severe cedar fever allergies like Austin has?

We lived in Austin, but could not handle the cedar season. My asthma and both of our allergies were unbearable. We are hoping that Dallas might be less or none at all? Either way, we'll probably have to look in to allergy shots this time around.

Are there any nice suburbs around the Dallas area that you would recommend to a couple who will be planning a family in the next couple of years? We really like treed neighborhoods with accessible conveniences.

What are the property taxes like? We paid around $4000/yr in Austin on a $180k home. Is it comparable, less, more?

What kind of music scene is there? We are in to modern rock, electo, dance...

Thank you so much for your help!

My parents live outside of Austin and when I visit them, I always get stuffy and sick like a head cold but when I head back to Dallas, it pretty much goes away and I am allergic to mountian cedar specificially. However, Dallas I believe is ranked to have pretty bad allergies for allergy sufferers so leaving Austin may not cure your allergies but might make it better.

I have cedar allergies. The season is December-February. I use nose spray and I'm fine. I did not have an issue with cedar when I lived in Austin.
