Trust me, I hate this weather just as much as the next person, but I look at it as preparation for when I move to Massachusetts and have to deal with it being in the teens for more than a day and feet of snow on the ground lol

It is unusually cold, but it won't equal Christmas 1983, when the high temperature was about 12 degrees. Fortunately, it will be reasonably dry, or so they say.

I wish we could have more autumn....it seems like it just went from summer directly to winter this year.

I remember that. That was the first year my Dad had moved here from California and my little sister and I's first visit to Texas. Great impression that made! hahaha

February could be entirely different and more than likely, it will be. It can be in the 90s or freezing cold. I think you'll be just fine in February. This cold is relatively unusual, but I'm sure not complaining...I'm loving it. Walking in this weather is wonderful, but I may not think so on Thursday or Friday unless it at least warms up to the high 30s.

I heard on the radio something about it being an El Nino or La Nina year and that it is why is colder than usual in the Dallas area.

Thanks Dave, that post reminds me that eventually it will stop being cold...thank God! So does anyone know if cold winters usually mean hotter summers? If an El Niño winter is colder, what is an El Niño summer in North Texas usually like?
