McDavid is a good dealership.

We used to have a higher opinion of McDavid in Frisco but their service department has been jerking us around for over a year now. We bought a 2007 Odyssey for my wife. One of the sliding doors is out of alignment and gets jammed and pops loudly when opening and it's also having minor electrical issues. Even though we can replicate the problems repeatedly, we take it in, the car spends the entire day in the shop (leaving my wife and 3 kids without a car) and they do absolutely nothing about it - saying they can't recreate the issues.

Will I buy another Honda from them? Not likely.

What most new car buyers aren't aware of & what the dealers don't want you to know is that you don't have to bring it back to the same dealership you bought it from for warranty work or other services. Honda will honor your factory warranty 100% at any of its dealerships across the country.

Ask me how I know? I'm a mechanic.

Here is a complete list of several Honda dealers nearest you.

Personally, I'd recommend McDavid Irving over Frisco any day. John Eagle Honda on Lemon Avenue in Dallas is also very good.

Send me a DM and I will give you the name of the customer service rep at the dealership. She is awesome and can get to the bottom of most customer service issues like this.

I wholeheartedly agree with steering clear of the Van Tuyl Group of auto dealerships.

I have had personal experience with four Dallas-area Van Tuyl Group stores. I consider this group of dealerships a veritable rogues' gallery of strong-arm sales tactics.

Avoid Toyota of Richardson and Reliable Chevrolet. They are owned by the same person/company. They sell used cars with a lot of hidden damage that they don't disclose and they also sell a lot of former fleet and rental cars. They will string you along and try to pull bait and switch scams as well.

There is a smaller used car dealership in Plano, High Country Motors that I highly recommend. It's run by a husband and wife, they are friendly, honest, and not at all high pressure.

Absolutely do not buy from Toyota of Lewisville. The biggest crooks in Texas. Changed terms, forged my signature and submitted to Toyota financial.

Hello all

Sorry for the long silence -- my internet was down and I know I appear ungrateful!

Many, many thanks for the advice! Sometimes it's all about who *not* to go to - I really appreciate the tips!

Thanks again!
