Hi-
We discovered this net type thing hanging from the side of our roof. Does anyone know what it is? It look likes a horse's tail but it is some type of netting material.
Thanks!

Man, I don't have a clue! Are you sure you don't have a horse hidden in your attic?

Are you the original owner or did you buy from someone else? Could it be pest netting? Exterminators will put up netting to keep bats out of your attic. The bats can fly out from under the netting but can't get back in.

Looks like a tattered piece of landscape covering - or those shade tarps.

If you look close you can see it tucked up there under the eaves just where the brick ends. Just one part has come out from being tucked into its spot. Probably to keep critters out like squirrels and birds.

We have checked our attic and as far as we can tell we dont have a horse up there. Our house was built in 1985 and we are the 4th owner (we bought the house in July).
Any other ideas what it is?

I have been in the roofing business for 15 years. What ever you have hanging is not part fo yoru roofing system. Liek others have said it is probably netting to keep critters out. Just get up there and cut it off.
