I don't live in areas with residential electric lines but I would think that the electric poles that TXU set are a standard size when they were installed--
maybe as homes have gotten taller the height of the poles has been increased but in older neighborhood with one-story homes you are probably stuck
TXU would have to come out and restring the lines--that is expensive

call your city planning/zoning dept and ask what the rules are for SAFETY
or call your local fire house and see if they can give you some info

I don't know if electric lines will droop after they have been installed for years--

Call Oncor and they will come out and fix it the same day. I've done this several times...

I wish that was the case here in Lakewood. In the alley across the street, the pole is deteriorated and the lines are drooping to about 7 feet off the ground. (dead alley, no car traffic). The new pole has been in place since June/July, but I think they might just be waiting for them to drop completely. The Oncor guys come out every few weeks, stomp around and then leave.

I hope the OP has better luck!

7 feet is not an emergency. Our pole was also sagging to one side, and when the line was about 4 feet off the ground, Oncor came and fixed it.

I still suggest you call the fire house that serves your area and talk to someone about what is the legal height--I can't belive that 7 ft off the ground is a legal height--that means that someone who is six ft tall can reach up and touch that line--
NOT a good thing
