Well it was a year in the making but I arrived yesterday with all of my worldly possessions. It was a grueling 26 hour drive averaging 55 MPH in a huge box truck filled to capacity with my car in tow. Florida to Texas all in the right lane. I don't recommend it. But the move is over and I'm totally thrilled to finally be here.

I'll be working in Plano (the western part of west Plano ) but I decided to settle in Carrollton. It just feels like home. This forum has really helped me a lot. I swear I read the entire Dallas section over the last year and it made me feel like I know the area very well before I even moved here. Thank you to everyone who posts here regularly. Most of my questions were answered before I even asked them. I will continue to follow this forum as I explore my new home town.

Glad you made it! I remember when I did it felt great! Just a few things I noticed: the dry heat is 1000000 times better than humid heat, the winters compared to Florida are real gray and gloomy, Dallas has 4 seasons unlike FL, many more cloudy overcast days, and huge flying roaches. Also you'll meet many more educated, thoughtful people in Dallas, and alot less complainers. It seems here in FL everyone nitpicks about the smallest things. Can't wait to move back to Dallas myself!! You will probably miss the sun a great deal so be prepared!!
