I have read that there are 23 Texas cities (towns) with no property taxes. They use only sales tax. Can someone name these 23?

Every city of any size has property taxes. I do not know how you would run a school or county government without income and neither of those participates in sales tax. I would like to know as well because I have not seen a Texas city without property tax.

EDIT: I have found several towns without property taxes, but the counties and school districts are funded by property taxes.

No property tax and no state income tax.

Sales tax only ? That would be a red flag for me. What do these cities look like ?

Nope, wish again. There is no CITY property tax, but you still pay county, school district, and utility district based upon property valuation.

There is NO free ride.

Default Stafford property tax

Stafford, Texas, west Houston area is in Ft. Bend County. Trust me, Cannondon, they DO pay property taxes.

A quick look at a couple of properties in Dallas, Ricardson, Garland, and Plano shows that in these areas the City taxes account for 20 - 25% of the total property taxes.
