Does anybody know of a place in the Wylie/Murphy/Plano area that refills the 20# propane tanks that are used on the grill. We would rather refill our current tanks than use the propane tank exchange at various stores because it is more cost effective. Didn't know if that was something you can do in Texas?

Most exchange them. Very few places are licensed to do the refill. We are and I can give you our locations if you will pm me. In order to do the refill at the location the tank must be in date of test compliance, fitted w/ the new valves, the operator/business must be licensed w/ the State of Texas Railroad Commission and each person doing the refilling must be licensed. We still just exchange them even though we do all of our own refills.

Your avg grocery store, gas station, pharmacy is NOT doing the refilling nor pumping their own propane.

Most U-Haul centers can do propane refills, as long as your tank is up to the current code.

There's a shack on 78 north of Wylie on the right that refills propane. It's just past Walmart on the right if you are heading north.

I don't know how their prices are... I've only seen it passing by on my way to Rockwall.

We always take ours to a U-Haul rental place to refill it.

Contact Wells Brothers on K north of midtown Plano. They price competitively, and are good folks.

This is why I had my plumber run a gas line to my patio. No more canisters. and not very expensive in terms of things you could do to your house.

depends on where he can connect to your gas line--
and I think moving a gas line--even one as small as that requires a city permit and inspection...depending on where you live--but most cities want an inspector to make sure the gas was done correctly...

Is Wylie Propane on SH 78 still there? They also had a small RV and mobile home park next door.

I always have U-Haul refill mines. Getting gas line installed is cheap if your doing new construction. It can be very costly to add it later. When I installed my outdoor kitchen I wanted to run gas but it was way to expensive. If I ever build another house it will have a gas stub.
