Well, we've gone from one poster who tries to say that places like Obar, Ivy, Purgatory, Pearl and Iron Cactus don't exist, to another poster who admits that they do exist, but that Purgatory is terrible.

Maybe he should try Heaven... it's said to be better than Purgatory. OTOH, he's lucky not to be in Hell or Lower Hell.

Hi Folks, are there similar places in Plano, Texas that are similiar to the Uptown Dallas and the West Village area? It would be nice to know that Plano offers a walkable urban vibe. If so, please resply. Thanks so much.

I've heard Legacy is good but I've never been up there. Also the old downtown Plano has a DART station and some TOD.

There's the Shops at Legacy.
Also the old downtown section of Plano just east of I-75 at one of the numbered streets...can't remember which one - it has an exit off I-75. Eisenbergs Skatepark is in this area.

Thanks so much Pepper! I will definitely check these places out during my next visit and scouting exercise.

Downtown (the CBD) has about 5,000 residents now with more apartment buildings opening all the time. I lived downtown without a car for 2 years and was able to live comfortably with everything I needed. The CBD area is more affordable than the luxury apartments of Uptown, but there are also good areas such as Deep Ellum, Cedars, Expo Park. There is more information on this site with maps and all of the neighborhoods that make up downtown, as well as the apartments in those areas. Downtown Dallas

NO absolutely not. Plano has no street scene at all, it's a generic burb.

The one big thing dallas has to do to make it's downtown come alive is submerge that highway loop. Then all the neighborhoods would connected and it would be walkable. Sure it would cost a bundle, but in the long run, it would be seen as the smartest thing they ever did.
