Here is my 2021 list of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Dallas. This is purely based off of what I feel is the most unsafe to be in.

1. Talleytown

This neighborhood especially at the Casa Luna Apartments is incredibly dangerous. I would never walk alone in this neighborhood.

2. Village Fair

The extreme rise in murders in this neighborhood warrants a #2 spot.

3. Forest Park Area

This neighborhood is the current felon drop off point, which makes it extremely unsafe to walk around in.

4. Southern Hills

Loop 12 at Jim Miller is really the worst area.

5. Village Oaks

A historically dangerous neighborhood that has gotten slightly better.

6. Dixon

The recent rise in gang activity puts Dixon on number 6.

7. Lagow

Another historically dangerous neighborhood, however the Carpenter Cove apartments is the worst area.

8. South East Side

There has been an extreme rise in gang violence in this neighborhood. Area around OED work yard and Fitzhugh is the worst.

9. Malcolm X & Ferris

Purely unsafe to walk through due to large amount of homeless population.

10. Highland Hills

Well known dangerous neighborhood, not as bad as it was, but still dangerous enough to make top 10.

Alright, let me know what yall think about the list!

The majority of these neighborhoods I’ve never heard before. I am familiar with “village fair” and Highland Hills in Oak Cliff and Dixon Circle in South Dallas. I would rank Dixon Circle much much higher. You wouldn’t catch me in that part of town no time of day. It’s VERY rough. Probably one of the roughest areas from a visual standpoint that I’ve ever seen in Dallas. I would also put Forest and Audelia in North Dallas on the list too. That area has high gang activity and crime. The crime is pretty bad. A few years back, I was stopped at an apartment complex after a shooting. It was sketchy as hell, but I was picking up a friend in the complex. He told me someone was shooting and we’re looking for a suspect. The officer came to my door questioning me, but luckily another officer seen me pulling up. He said shootings happen very often in Forest/Audelia. It lowkey felt like profiling when he stopped me, but I didn’t press the issue. I just wanted get out of there...

I had the opportunity to drive through Forest/Audelia this past weekend. I used to hang out/drive through in that area in the 80's. Today, what a sh$% hole. I couldnt believe how downhill it went. There were people sleeping on the sidewalks. Shady people walking all over. Also very dirty.

I was surprised that #8 was so high. It in (long) walking distance from me and the way that I drive to get on I-30. I always see lots of families there. There are lots of people looking for day labor work there - which doesn't really concern me. Guess my eyes are open now.

The areas along Audelia north of LBJ up to Walnut aren't great at all, but I don't think they are as bad as the top ten on this list. Definitely not as bad as LaPrada/John West, Village Fair, Forest Park, or Dixon Circle.

One area close to where I live that I think had gotten slightly better is Walnut Hill/Wickersham/LBJ/Amanda Ln.

My friend use to live in the apartments on Wickersham near Walnut Hill. I had no idea that area was that rough, when it came to crime. The surrounding residential neighborhoods don’t look bad at all. It’s the apartments and the bad management. One Friday night, my friend invited me to come over. A little after midnight, I heard something outside (mind you we’re on the 3rd floor of the Apt building)...then I heard gun shots. It was so close that I yelled to my friend “someone’s getting murdered”. My friend laughed it off and got his gun but I was dead serious. Soon after, I left and went home. The next day I seen this https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbc...2326278/%3famp

After that, it went downhill from there. My friend wanted out...homeless people started breaking into the unoccupied units and living out of them. My friend kept reporting it but nothing would change. They just bordered up the doors and that’s it. Thankfully, my friend moved away from that in January.

While yes, I agree, the Nawfside apartment areas bordering 635 are dangerous. Shootings like the ones you mention occur every other week out there. While in the neighborhoods in the top ten, people are shot like every other day. Furthermore, I have walked around those areas in the day (my friend was renting an apartment on Ferris Branch for a while) and I have to say, I did not feel nearly as unsafe as I did in any of the neighborhoods on the list. Now I will admit, there are two honorable mentions to the list. The first would be Skillman-Audelia/635, the second would be either Webb Chapel at Park Ln or Webb Chapel at NW Hwy.
